Learning and Socialization for Homeschoolers

Hi, I'm Catie, owner of Temecula Playschool and Multisensory Tutoring. I have been homeschooling my children in Temecula Valley since 2014. Prior to homeschooling, I ran a family childcare for 8+ years in Oceanside, CA. I have been working with children professionally since 2003 and began 1-1 tutoring when COVID hit in 2020.

I am a certified tutor for the Barton Reading and Spelling Program, a registered instructor for Institute for Excellence in Writing and I have been trained to teach Touch-Math, Zoo-Phonics and Childrens Yoga. I currently homeschool my son (3rd) and daughter (9th) through Springs Charter. My eldest daughter is attending Palomar College.

For me, tutoring is about personalizing each session to meet and challenge my students' cognitive needs. However, I believe it is just as important to nurture the child's social, emotional and physical development as well, which is why I have built in a free social club to my "homeschool tutoring" offering. Our social club meets twice per week for 4 hours each day and is only available to families enrolled in my private tutoring sessions. During our social club gatherings, children have time to play and complete tutoring homework as well as engage in learning with others in whole group social studies and science lessons.
